Artist Bio
Rawley Chaves graduated from Rhode Island College with a B.A. in film studies. Through her artwork, she strives to convey the idea that there is nothing inherently offensive about nudity. She aims to deconstruct social norms, especially those that pertain to ideologies about sex, gender, beauty, and mental illness. Her artistic influences include Marina Abramovic, Frida Kahlo, Annie Dillard, and Francesca Woodman. When she's not creating boundary-pushing art, Rawley enjoys hiking, gardening, cooking, writing, laughing, crying, and overthinking everything. She currently lives in Seekonk, MA with her girlfriend and three cats.
