This limited-edition giclee print is from a 1923 gouache painting by Erte title "La Mer Blanche." The work was a costume designed by the artist for “Les Mers,” a part of “George White’s Scandals.” The “Scandals” were long-running Broadway revues between 1919 and 1939, modeled after the Ziegfeld Follies.

The giclee is signed by the artist and numbered 300 out of 300.

Item Special Note

Erté was born Roman Petrovich Tirtov, to a distinguished military family in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1910 he would move to Paris and change his name to avoid embarrassing his family so he could work as an artist.
