Item Description
Narwhals are the unicorns of the sea. Mysterious, majestic and undoubtedly cool. This fantastic creature is sure to brighten the wall in any small sailor's nursery.
The wooden base measures 9 inches tall and 7 inches wide. The narwhal will protrude 9 inches from the wall, and is 12 inches tall from horn tip to the bottom of the base. There is a bracket on the back of the base, so you can hang it on a picture nail. At your request, I'll even throw one in for you.
The body is made from felt that is made from recycled bottles (technology!). She's sturdy, but I wouldn't try to hang a coat on her or anything. The wooden base was manufactured in the USA. Also it would be inadvisable for a child, or anyone for that matter, to consume the eyes or other small parts.
About the artist: As a lifelong animal lover, Vanessa Henerty wanted to push back against the recent trend of taxidermy décor. She says, “I wanted to show people that you can have the aesthetic without the murder bit. Plus, if you create creatures from cloth then you can make anything you want! Velociraptors? Unicorns? Chupacabras? I’ve got it all, and nobody died. Everyone wins!” Her creations can be found at www.lochnessa.com
Thanks Vanessa!
