The lake side vacation house is part of Encampment Forest Association located on the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. It is located 3 hours from Minneapolis and one hour from Duluth and very close to the start of grandma's Marathon race in June!
This three-bedroom house has a fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and two full and two half bathrooms. There is an upper and lower level, ideal for two families or multiple generations. The house can accommodate 10 people in the summer and 8 people in the winter.
Occupancy: anytime other than July and August (late June and early September are beautiful times to visit). Can be reserved by winner in 2019.
Encampment Forest is a private association, only available to members and their guests. The property consists of 2,000 acres of wilderness, several miles of hiking trails, and 200 acres of old-growth white pine forest – the largest in Minnesota. The house is also close to Gooseberry Falls State Park dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/gooseberry_falls/index.html) and Superior Hiking Trail, a 310-mile continuous trail from Duluth to Canada.
Lake Superior is the largest fresh water body of water in North America and one of the largest in the world. The rocks are 1.1 billion years old. Favorite summer activities are hunting for agates, hiking, and kayaking and winter activities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and hiking.
