One-on-One Critique with Shevaun Doherty
Shevaun is an award-winning artist from Dublin, Ireland. It was whilst living in Egypt that she first discovered watercolours. Inspired by the tropical flora and light, she enrolled on the SBA Distance Learning Diploma Course, graduating with distinction in 2012. Since then, she has exhibited regularly both in Ireland and internationally. She has won many awards for her paintings, including the Joanne Craig-McFeeley Rose Bowl and Certificate of Botanical Merit from the SBA, and four gold medals and Best in Show Award at Bloom in Dublin.
Using art to raise awareness about the natural world is something that she feels passionate about. She recently designed a set of Irish postage stamps featuring native bees, as well as the cover image The All-Ireland Pollinator Plan. She is now the vellum tutor for the SBA distance learning diploma, and travels extensively giving art workshops, encouraging others to reach their artistic potential
