Item Description

Make sure your passport is up to date as you head south to Peru for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. With dazzling temples, ancient cities, and access to famed Inca ruins, your visit to Cusco's imperial city—on UNESCO’s World Heritage list—is sure to enchant you.

The hotel Posada Villamayor, a 17th century colonial-style mansion located in the heart of Cusco’s historical downtown, will be your home base during your stay. Experience the warm hospitality and history of Cusco as you explore the city streets, taste the amazing food, and see the art all around you. You’ll get the chance to visit the iconic Machu Picchu for some stunning examples of Incan engineering and unforgettable photo opportunities.

Choose to spend one night in the rural village of Paucartambo, situated at the entrance to the Amazon. Hear Quechua spoken in the streets and leave the city pace behind as you seem to travel back in time. Plan your visit in July to experience a famous Andean festival, La Fiesta de la Virgen del Carmen, with celebrations lasting 4 full days! Thousands of visitors from around the world gather to watch dancers performing contradanza line dance, see the elaborate costumes and masks, and of course join the living theater!

You will be well taken care of as EB parents Jose Luis Villasante and Marie-Elise Sallat help you plan the perfect trip. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to visit an extraordinary place!

Item Special Note

Available for five nights and six days. Includes one night at the Paucartambo Rey Carlos III and four nights in Cusco at Posada Villa Mayor (two double rooms). Guests may choose to forego village stay in favor of one more night in Cusco. Breakfast included. Dates to be arranged by mutual agreement (Andean festival takes place July 15 to July 18).
