Item Description
Enjoy one haircut and blowout by Tricia Kirkland at her loft in NYC.
Patricia Kirkland, a chipper Lake District Brit, runs this two-chair salon on the totally transformed Nolita block where she’s resided for nearly two decades. The soaring tin ceiling and painted brick walls set off modern Danish chairs—she used to deal—and her own hammered Renaissance-inspired jewelry, known to stop foot traffic on the tree-lined sidewalk. Uptowners strolling south after brunch at Bread admire the jewelry, but Kirkland’s regulars, getting their locks chopped in the back half of the 350-square-foot space—Kirkland shampoos and cuts; a dye guy works alongside—are often locals like Lyell’s Emma Fletcher and Peasant’s Frankie DeCarlo. (Kirkland has been known to barter cuts for dinner.) Even when not getting stylish, low-maintenance trims in her navy-blue barber chair, pals often stop by with Bugaboos and bikes to say hello and purchase small-batch varietals at her husband Jean-Baptiste Humbert’s wine shop next door.
