WHAT IS THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE?
The Alexander Technique is a method for reducing stress and tension in the mind-body. It has been recognized as a valuable resource for many years by performing artists and athletes for its unique ability to improve posture, alignment, and movement.
The method helps you become more aware of your body and its functioning. We all have habits—ways of using ourselves that may not be constructive. Tension gets lodged in certain parts of the body and results in locked shoulders, tight backs, and restricted movement. Through letting go of unnecessary tensions and strains in the mind-body, the Alexander Technique helps you return to a freer, easier, more natural way of being.
