Item Description
This year's project was inspired by a book titled "The Best Part of Me" by Wendy Ewald. The students in Mrs. Eichen's class each created and finished a clay pinchpot while learning about texture in art. They also co-wrote and produced a book filled with essays and illustrations capturing their own "best part of me" - in the process they studied graphic organization; writing topic sentences, supporting details and concluding sentences; and the use of adjectives and figurative language.
The collection is housed in an antique China Hutch piece, hand-finished by Mrs. Eichen, with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint (color: Duck Egg Blue) and sealed to perfection with two coats of clear wax and one coat of dark wax. Distressed in a shabby chic with new knobs.
