Item Description
Don Bichner was a big supporter and one of the early leaders in the restoration of the building that now houses the Heyde Center for the Arts. Don loved nature, was a talented carpenter, and enjoyed scroll saw projects which he delighted in giving away to his family and friends. His handiwork can be seen in many homes and businesses throughout the area. Don was a true gentleman in the finest sense of the word. He was a kind man with a quick smile and a generous heart who will be deeply missed by everyone whose life he touched.
Don kept busy by creating wonderful wooden works of art. After his death in January 2018, his family found that he had created a number of different items and has donated a number of these items to the Heyde Center's online auction.
Each item is unique - made from sometimes centuries old wood that was rescued from buildings being torn down or renovated in the greater Chippewa Falls area. Don could not see this wood being thrown away or burned, so he gave it new life.
This auction item is wonderful 10.25" x 15" inlaid wooden plaque of a shaggy dog.
Item Special Note
This item can be picked up at the Heyde Center at the close of the auction or it can be mailed but at the expense of the auction winner. Wisconsin State Sales tax (5.5%) will be added to the winning bid at the time of awarding the items to winners.
