Item Description
J. A. Decker, a wealthy lumber baron and banker, built this impressive
thirty-room home for his family in 1897. Over the years, we have
carefully preserved many of the original features of this historic Queen
Ann Victorian-style home, such as the large wrap-around porch, cut
glass double entry, and unique cherry and oak woodwork.
The third floor, originally a ballroom, was modified into guest rooms by
the Mandeville Family in the early 1900s. As a result of the stock
market crash, the home was converted into a bed and breakfast, to
which we welcome you today. Breakfast and taxes are also included in
your stay.
Item Special Note
This item is designated as Shipping and will have a shipping cost of $3.00 added to the winning final bid price. Shipping may be combined with other items to reduce winners shipping fees if multiple items are won by the same bidder. Arrangements can also be made for pick-up at the station if preferred but you must contact us at 570.602.1122 or wviaauction@wvia.org if you prefer this option. This will be determined on a case by case basis.
