About the Series Editor: 

Robert Strassler is an independent scholar and businessman.  He is currently the editor of the Landmark series of ancient historians. Four works have been published which are widely acclaimed for making ancient Greek historians accessible to modern readers through careful and thorough annotation and an imaginative format which includes, among other things, one hundred-forty maps.  Four more works are under contract and underway. He is a  graduate of Harvard University and its business school, and serves and has served on numerous boards.  At this time he is a General Partner of Weston Associates in Great Barrington, Mass,  a member of the Board of Trustees of the Medici Archive Project,  former chair of the Aston Magna Foundation for Music and the Humanities, Inc., Chair Emeritus of the Board of Overseers of Bard College at Simon’s Rock,  and an emeritus member of the Board of Trustees for The National Humanities Center. He is a member of the American Philosophical Society, an overseer of the Museum of Fine Arts of Boston, a member of the Advisory Council to the Department of Astrophysics at Princeton University and a member of the Bunker Hill Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
