Item Description
You are buying a spot to the Book Binding Workshop.
The class is taught by Jan Smith, WSP high school art teacher. Jan has her art degree in Book Arts and has been making books for over 30 years. Come and join Jan for a fun afternoon!
This fun workshop will teach you how to marble paper in the Turkish Ebru style. Traditional patterns will be covered, but the fun is in creating your own designs. The beauty of marbling paper is everyone is successful. After the papers dry, we will use them as cover sheets for the two books that will be created. Both books will have exposed spines and decorative stitching. Both books are perfect travel journals: one will be a watercolor journal and the other will be a writing journal. The books require no specialized tools, allowing them to be recreated easily.
The workshop is available to adults and high school students.
Participants would walk away with 3-5 pieces of marbled paper, one watercolor journal and one writing journal. Materials cost of $40 is included with the ticket price.
