Certificate for a One-Hour, children's horse riding lesson at Nakota Horse Preserve.
Christine McGowan fell in love with rare, wild, endangered Nokota horses, which trace their bloodlines to the days of Sitting Bull, who bred them as war ponies, She created a Nokota Preserve on her 13-acre farm in Chester Springs, Chester County.
"Join me and share passion for the Nokota® breed and their place in American history. These horses are wild and free and embody the REAL America of yesterday...stamina, endurance and work ethic. I've created this foundation to pasture and manage the remaining Nokota with an "All-American" edge. The Nokota breed is special, and their story celebrates American grit. I believe there is a common denominator that can benefit the horses and those who love them and leave a mark where it is deserved."
In addition to running her farm and training the Nokota that come to The Preserve, she also runs The Preserve Learning Center, an Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program designed to aid in the development of interpersonal relationships.
