Item Description
1960’s fine hardwood hand-carvings with soft contours, previously used as temple decor at the large International Church in Vientiane, Laos. Amazing detail in the carvings.
Condition: Bust #1, Good. Fine scratches and wears. Bust #2, Fair Condition. Visible crack with scratches and wears. Some loss of surface lustre with uneven color and discolorations. Circa 20th century.

Comments from the donor Pauline Morris:
"In the late 1960's my Dad became the pastor of the large International Church in Vientienne, Laos. Even while most of the region was at war, my father, being a French speaker, visited many of the surrounding countries. While visiting Bali, he bought these substantial fine hardwood hand-carvings with soft contours. The carvings were primarily used as temple decor and are carved both front and back. The detail in the carvings is quite amazing."
