Item Description
"Soaked in Summer"
The One Block Wonder technique of quilting is an unusual method. Instead of starting with a particular pattern or design and then trying to find fabric that will fit in the pattern, this approach begins with the fabric: the fabric is the key element. You work with a single long length of fabric from which Kaleidoscope "flowers," are produced by aligning the printed design on the several layers of fabric and then cutting and sewing precise triangles together to form, a "flower" block. These blocks are then designed into the overall quilt. In the case of the One Block Wonder, the sum of its parnts is greater than the whole!
This quilt has additional hand applique throughout to add depth to the design. It was machine pieced and machine quilted. It is 100% cotton fabric and batting, measures 58"x58" and has a hanging sleeve on the back.
Retail value: $1,200.00
