Item Description
"North Atlantic Reflections - Photographic narratives from Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe Islands and Denmark" by Danish photographer Benny Nybo.
Photo book in English
273 pages, hardback
In "North Atlantic Reflections" the Danish photographer Benny Nybo tells photographic stories from journeys undertaken in Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe Islands and his come-country Denmark. Countries that all border on the northern part of the Atlantic Ocean - the North Atlantic. The sun's light plays the main role in this photographic narrative, since light can create special, exhalted moods - such as golden sunsets - but also millions og colour nuances and endless typesof shadow effects. Exhalted moods that cause us humans to stop and pause - breathless. We can sink into the enjoyment of such moments, we can feel ourselves at one with nature, and we can marvel at the vast contexts of the universe and the earth. The wonders of nature play the other major role. Landscapes such as the majestic Illulissat Isfjord in Greenland, and Gulfos, the thundering waterfall in Iceland, the lush green hills ad mountains of The Faroe Islands, and Denmark's spring-green woods. Birds, animals, plants and flowers. We humans are an important part of all this, with everything we have created. "North Atlantic Reflections" offers us the opportunity to mirror ourselves in the images from Greenland, Iceland, The Faroe Islands and Denmark, with respect and understanding for our diverse nature and cultural life-conditions.
