Item Description

Pair of Parquet Seats to the famous Orpheus Chamber Orchestra during the 2018-2019 Season at Carnegie Hall.

Orpheus was founded in New York City in 1972 by a group of fellow musicians who aspired to apply the chamber music principles of individual participation and personal responsibility to an orchestral setting. Central to Orpheus founding principles was the musicians commitment to rehearse and perform without a conductor. Orpheus is a self-governing organization; the players demand of one another a high level of personal and musical responsibility. Orpheus performs without a conductor, rotating musical leadership roles for each work, and striving to perform diverse repertoire through collaboration and open dialogue. The ensemble has commissioned and premiered 50 new compositions. Orpheus recordings include the Grammy Award-winningShadow Dances: Stravinsky Miniaturesfor Deutsche Grammophon, and over 70 other recordings for DG, Sony Classical, EMI Classics, BMG/RCA Red Seal, Decca, and others, including its own label, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra Records.
