Item Description
Spill into the wild world of Surrealism, peek through the duplicitous and fractured
lens of Cubism, be confronted by the ‘wild beasts’ of Fauvism—spend a morning
with Art Department Chair Sean Lynch and History Teacher Abby Abbott at the
Museum of Modern Art. You and three friends will interact with Dali, Picasso,Oppenheim, Magritte, and Chagall as you engage in a lively dialogue situating seminal works in their provocative historical and social contexts. Afterwards, stroll to Central Park and sketch in the style of your favorite artist from the morning.
Your day will be complete with a delightful lunch in the dining room at the
University Club. Built in 1899 in a Mediterranean Revival Italian Renaissance
palazzo-style, this beautiful building not only offers an array of spectacular
architectural features, but is also the home to one of New York’s greatest private art
collections.
This package is for four people.
Item Special Note
Date to be mutually agreed upon for a weekday in May 2018. Transportation not
included. Laurie Raleigh will be joining you for lunch.
