Claudine Alberti has been teaching French as a foreign language since 1987 in France, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Japan. She has a BA from the University of Besançon and a Masters in Teaching French from Rouen. Claudine herself is multilingual (English, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish). She operates a successful immersion program in a charming village in Burgundy, where she offers weeklong one-on-one immersion language lessons. The Alliance has referred a number of students to her program in Burgundy, and all recommend it highly.
The winning bidder (one person) will enjoy three days of Claudine's one-on-one immersion program located in the village of Montbard, just an hour by TGV from Paris. Says Claudine: "Immersion in a little French town means living French culture on a daily basis, and getting to know a region well by experiencing its rhythms and seasons." Your home base will be your own private apartment for guest students in Alberti's home, located on the grounds of a renovated nunnery.
This three-day program is open to French learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced.
Day 1 - Arrival in the morning. Three hours of one-on-one lessons in the morning and a local tour in the afternoon. Lunch and dinner provided. Overnight lodging in the private apartment.
Day 2 - Breakfast and lunch, three hours of morning lessons, followed by an afternoon tour of local sites of interest. Dinner on your own. Overnight lodging in the private apartment.
Day 3 - Breakfast and lunch, three hours of morning lessons; late afternoon departure.
To be arranged for a mutually agreeable date with the donor; check out Claudine's calendar for possibilities. The winning bidder is welcome to arrange in advance to extend their immersion program by a few days or weeks, at their own cost, and depending on Alberti's availability.
(The winning bidder would normally do this program solo, but could bring along a non-French-learning partner at an additional cost of 40 euros per day.)
Redeem the certificate for the three-day prize by Jan. 1, 2020. Book well in advance as Claudine's schedule gets filled quickly.
