Item Description
Opened in August 2012, Hollow Nickel is a casual bar and restaurant owned and operated by three friends that drew inspiration from the little known and intriguing story of the 1953 Hollow Nickel Case. The case began with a 14 year old Brooklyn Eagle newspaper boy who collected a five cent piece that felt too light to him. When he dropped it on the ground, it popped open to disclose a microfilm containing a series of numbers. The microfilm went on to reveal a complex web of espionage involving the KGB, the U.S. Atomic Program and the U.S. Navy.
Hollow Nickel is located in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn just 2 blocks from Barclays Center, BAM, and across the street from Roulette.
