Item Description

Petaluma Pie Company is a farm-to-table bakery cafe specializing in sweet and savory pies made with local and organic ingredients.

The bakery opened in December 2010 and is owned and operated by Petaluma couple and pie enthusiasts, Angelo Sacerdote and Lina Hoshino.

Born and raised in New York City Angelo loved food as a child and taught himself how to cook by watching Julia Child and other cooking shows. He got an early start on the local food movement by growing tomatoes and basil in the window flower box on a 6th floor New York city apartment in the 1980’s. Angelo used to think, “Wouldn’t it be great to have a restaurant where everything is a pie?” This pie shop was the answer to that age old question.

Lina, Angelo’s partner in life, grew up in a family that moved between Tokyo, Paris, Hawaii, California and New Jersey. Her family also owned and operated one of the few Japanese restaurants in New Jersey in the 1980s, where Lina, as a teenager, got first hand experience working in the restaurant business.  “I watched my mother work many hours to make her restaurant a success. When we decided to open the pie shop, I knew it wasn’t going to be a cake walk, but it has been worth the effort,” she said. Lina thinks pie has the potential to embrace and celebrate diverse culinary traditions from around the world. "Globally inspired pie: How American is that?"

“We take the idea of ‘farm to table’ seriously and purchase many of our ingredients directly from farmers and other producers,” said Angelo, an avid gardener who often brings in fresh produce from the Petaluma Pie garden.

Petaluma Pie Company changes its menu seasonally so there is always something new to try. Pick up a pie for your weekend wine country get away or grab a quick and wholesome lunch or  dinner (best to call ahead!) at Petaluma Pie Company. They are open seven days a week.

The winning bidder can pick up the certificate at BIJC Petaluma, or request it be mailed.
