Item Description
Do you have fond memories of the Children's Discovery Musuem and Bessie the Dinosaur that sits out front? What better way to remember the wonderful times your family spent in this museum that with this set of custom wooden cutouts hand-crafted by The Cat's Meow.
Each set includes one wooden cutout of the Children's Discovery Museum (approx. 5" tall x 5.5" wide) and one wooden cutout of Bessie the Dinosaur (approx. 2" tall x 3" wide).
The Children’s Discovery Museum opened in 1982 to satisfy the community’s desire for interactive, educational museum experiences for young children and their families. It was housed in a Queen Anne Victorian style house that was built for Fred and Addie Burke in 1883. The yellow and maroon on the outside reflect original colors of Queen Anne homes of that time.
The Children's Discovery Museum and Science Discovery Museum were collectively known as The Discovery Museums. In 2017, the Science Discovery Museum was renovated and expanded to create a unified, fully-accessible museum experience that incorporates the best from the Children's Discovery Museum, the Science Discovery Museum, as well as many new exhibits and galleries. In March 2018, the new Discovery Museum building opened, and the Children's Discovery Museum in the old Victorian house closed to the public.
The Cat’s Meow Village is a small company that crafts "little wooden buildings" of local, national, and international landmarks that spark memories and kindle smiles on the faces of “real life adventurers."
