From Cat Bennett:

I began my career in the 1970's in the animation department at The National Film Board of Canada in Montreal. It was heaven—a world of creative people making films about all kinds of things. I loved it and stayed for five years.

Then I moved to Boston where I became a freelance animation filmmaker and an illustrator. I made short animations for CBC-Sesame Street, Nickelodeon TV, WHDH-TV, WGBH-TV and various non-profits before segueing to full-time illustration work. I worked for over 25 years as an illustrator and designer with clients such as The Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, The Wall Street Journal, The Baltimore Sun, Time Magazine, Houghton Mifflin, Scholastic, Harcourt Brace, CBS Records and many others. I made hundreds and hundreds of drawings and it became my mission to send out some positive energy with each of them.

About 12 years ago, I also began teaching drawing to adults and discovered that everyone can draw! I was so excited by what happened to people when they re-engaged with drawing and creative thinking that she wrote three books about it—

Two of the books won prizes:

The Confident Creative was a 2011 gold medal winner in

The Nautilus Book Awards for life-changing books.

Making Art a Practice won Foreword's 2013 "Book of the Year"

award in the Arts Category.

I now make art, write books and coach people to step into the change they seek right now.  The Art of Change is my creative mindset, insight and action-based coaching program.
