Item Description
This is a beautiful porcelain wall plate, named "Peace of Jerusalem" created by Shemuel Katz in the Holy Land to commemorated the historic role of Jerusalem in bringing peace to mankind.
It was fired at Naaman in the Ancient city of Acre Israel in 1979.
The plate has the fabulous 1970s colors. It is the element of movement in the drawings of Shemuel Katz, however, that brings to the fore his propensity for observing reality through a poet's eyes and expressing it in a distinctive personal style. In the center of the plate, a dove. Further down, the city of Jerusalem. Gilted rim. Around the edge in 4 languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Latin and English) the phrase "Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem".
