Item Description
This piece, ‘In Motion’, was created specifically for the 105 Year Online Auction. It is meant to represent both the ongoing growth of Springfield Hospital, as well as the artist’s appreciation for Vermont’s beauty.ã
Glass is cut into small strips and strategically arranged on to a metal screen that has been raised approximately 6 inches above the shelf of the kiln. The kiln is then heated to 1675 degrees to allow the glass to melt slowly through the screen and on to the shelf below. It is this collaboration, with the process swirling and melding the artist’s selected glass palette, that creates a truly one of a kind piece. ã
