Item Description
We are thrilled to have three artist painted skateboards by up and coming artist, Nicholas Cueva. Based in Bushwick, Brooklyn, Cueva is best known for his large, mixed media abstract paintings. However, a subject that he returns to often is that of wave surfing. Almost like drawings, the surfing images are like meditations on patience similar to the patience needed waiting for a wave.
The surfing theme translates beautifully in these skate boards.
Originally from Southern California, Cueva received a Masters of Fine Arts at the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011. He recently had a solo exhibition at MEN Gallery on the Lower East Side and a solo exhibition at Five Myles Gallery in Brooklyn that was on leading art critic’s, Jerry Saltz (this year’s recipient of the Pulitzer Prize for Criticism) “10 Achievements of 2017” list.
