Carolyn Enz Hack

Dreaming the Messier Objects

Patinated copper, mica, mixed media

9” x 12” x 3”

Carolyn Enz Hack is a Vermont-based artist who has exhibited regionally and nationally. She is the recipient of two Vermont Arts Endowment Awards. She has lived most of her life on a farm and settled in her Vermont studio in 2000.

I’m interested in Deep History, finding threads that connect the far past to the present and examining the accretions of image and knowledge. There are millennia-worth of ideas expressed through art linking beliefs of ancient societies with an understanding of our lived experience today. Many ancient beliefs survive in the collective subconscious.
