The Open Studio Summer Camp @ The Q
Monday July 9th - Friday August 17th, 2018
8:30AM - 4:00PM*
Ages: 6-12**

At the Open Studio Summer Camp, your child gets a chance to spend the summer exploring multiple open studios inside one location! Your child will have a choice between 7 studios daily, allowing for the freedom and flexibility to engage in the activities that interest them.

Art Studio: New mediums, techniques and artists will be explored and introduced each week. We will have guest instructors and opportunities for creating both short term and long term projects.

Music/Movement Studio: Each day children will explore different styles of movement and music from various parts of the world. Children will also have the opportunity to experience different styles of music and different instruments with special guests.

Storytelling and Language Studio: Explore languages and storytelling in all forms from books to comic book making, movie making to poetry, puppetry and much more.

Science/Engineering Studio: From rocket ship and plane design to chemical reactions to model building and woodworking. Each day will be a new experiment to try and problems to solve.

Cooking and Culture Studio: With ingredient explorations from all over the world. Each week kids will try their hand at making foods and tasting foods from a specific part of the world. They will also learn key words and stories that go with the foods they are trying.

Community Service Studio: With explorations of different projects that help others. Children will make gifts for other children in the hospital, make sandwiches for people who are hungry, prepare shoes for donation to people in the world who need them, volunteer with younger children and work with guest organizations. Each day, students are invited to participate in ways to help our community and people in need.

Painting Studio: Students can choose to work on ongoing painting projects and learn new techniques of bringing their ideas to life. They will be introduced to different paints including acrylic, watercolor, and tempera, and working on various texture techniques, color mixing, collage and mixed media.

After Care Chill Out Studio From 5-6 pm the library becomes the chill out studio where students can relax and reflect on their day. Read a book from the many shelves, draw, work on your camp journal, or play board games with friends.


Full and half time options, extended hours, and flexible schedules available!
*Extended day available from 4:00PM - 6:00PM.
**Will accept 5 year olds that have completed Kindergarten.
