The words that burned into my brain after talking to Erik and turned into images:
- Fatty white substance
- Malformed networks
- Break apart
- Inflammation
- Fused
- Repair
The word encaustic comes from ancient Greek and means “to burn in”. Which pigmented wax is fixed by heat. Encaustic painting is an ancient medium which is beeswax, damar resin and pigment. Migrolia in acute post m-TBI is what this painting represents.
