Christine Destrempes
Color & Form #9
Monotype, colored pencil, graphite
3.5” x 5”
For more than twenty years, Christine Destrempes has been painting and making monotype prints. The Color & Form Series was done on an etching press with oil-based inks, each print is unique and has multiple impressions. Graphite and colored pencil are added throughout the printing process.
In June 2009, Destrempes completed her first installation, 13,699, and started Art for Water, an initiative to raise awareness of the shrinking availability of clean water through public-participation art. In 2015, she started Art & Dialogue, a non-profit organization that uses the process of art making to generate conversation about today’s issues and how they often intersect.
