Item Description
"At the start of 2016, I had a bad feeling. Time was not working right." Thus begins award-winning author Gary Shteyngart's journey down the rabbit hole of horology. As told in his touching, unnerving, and beautifully-written essay in The New Yorker, the acclaimed author of Super Sad True Love Story and the upcoming Lake Success, recounts how he fell in love with and became an expert on watches.
Join Gary for a private lunch in New York City with Adam Craniotes, the founder of RedBar watches, to talk horology and collecting with people who share your passion for watches.
Gary Shteyngart was born in the Soviet Union and lives in New York City. His award-winning novels include Little Failure: A Memoir; Super Sad True Love Story; Absurdistan; and The Russian Debutante's Handbook. His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, Slate, Granta, Travel and Leisure, and The New York Times. His latest novel, Lake Success, will be released in September 2018.
RedBar Group is the official organization for an international collective of watch collectors. Founded by Adam Craniotes and Kathleen McGivney, RedBar Group's goals include fostering the growth of existing collector communities around the globe, helping fellow enthusiasts start new meetups in their local areas, and encouraging collectors to give back to the local communities where gatherings take place. As a company, RedBar wants to echo their passion for horology with a dedication to helping those in need in their communities.
