Item Description
Discover the hidden history of the Tampa Theatre with this late-night, lights-off ghost tour for 25!
In 1965, projectionist Foster "Fink" Finley died after 25 years of service to his beloved Tampa Theatre. Ever since, strange occurrences have been reported in and around the projection booth - an unexplained tap on the shoulder, doors opening and closing, shadows passing through the room, and the lingering smell of lilac aftershave...Foster's favorite.
But Fink isn't the only spirit still roaming the Theatre's legendary halls. Join Tampa Theatre's "Ghost Host" Jill Witecki for a private, late-night, lights-off tour of Tampa's most historic - and most haunted - majestic movie palace.
You and up to 24 of your friends will enjoy complimentary popcorn and a cash bar as you tour the Theatre and hear about its otherworldly denizens.
The quintessence of grand movie palace architecture, the Tampa Theatre was chosen as one of “America's 21 Wonders" and “One of the Top Ten Iconic Showplaces in the World.” A beloved community treasure since 1926, the Theatre was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, is a Tampa City Landmark, and is a member of the League of Historic American Theatres.
Designed by famed theatre architect John Eberson, the Tampa Theatre is a superior example of the "atmospheric" style of theatre design. Audiences are transported to a lavish, romantic Mediterranean courtyard replete with old world statuary, flowers, and gargoyles. Over it all is a nighttime sky with twinkling stars and floating clouds.
