Bruce McColl was born in Waterford, Michigan in 1966. He received his BA from Brown University in 1988 and was awarded an MFA in painting from Wayne State University where he studied with noted painter Robert Wilbert. In 2005, Bruce was appointed the Director of the Currier Museum Art Center. A recent graduate of the National Guild's Community Arts Education Leadership Institute, today he is Director of Art Education at the Currier Museum of Art where he leads a talented team of educators who engage and inspire over 8,500 school aged students each year.
Bruce has been awarded a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, two Fellowships in Painting from “ArtWorks!” in New Bedford, MA, and two residencies at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. His work is included in the permanent collections of the Currier Museum of Art in Manchester, NH; Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH; and, Union College in Schenectady, NY. Bruce McColl is represented by McGowan Fine Art in Concord, New Hampshire.
