Artist Statement: Continuing on with my fish-related puns, this year's cod is made with a several hundred acrylic nails, complete with nail polish and decorative gems. The layering of nail shapes create an interesting scale pattern over the entire surface.
Artist Biography: Rachel Branham is a visual art teacher at Marblehead High School. She has been teaching art for almost a decade. She holds degrees and certifications from Lesley University, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Ohio State University. Her preferred medium is pen and ink, but always enjoys the challenge of sculpture with unconventional materials, like this piece.
