Item Description
Title & Artist: “Shelli” - by Randa Dubnick
Medium & Size: Mixed media (acrylic paint, metallic ink marker); 19" x 8"
Artist Statement: This year I decided to decorate my codfish with a surface pattern of seashells. I am creating a kind of visual pun as the seashells replace the scales that you expect to see on a fish. The colors - turquoise, white, and gold - evoke the colors of the ocean. I also tried to capture the iridescence of the fish and the texture of the seashells.
Artist Biography: I am an independent artist—primarily a painter, but I work in other media as well. I am a member of Porter Mills Studios in Beverly, MA, where I have a studio. I am also a member of Galatea Fine Art in Boston. I studied art at Southern Colorado State College and the University of Colorado at Boulder.
I make art every day and have a blog, where I post images daily. I also do portraits and create keepsakes for Memory Imprints. You can find out more on my website.
Value: $200
Hosting Business: Shelli is on display at Scribe Paper & Gift, 84 Washington St., Marblehead, MA
