Item Description

This small cross-shoulder woven bag is unique in so many ways. Practically speaking, it is not only gorgeous, but lightweight and durable.

It also has a story that makes it truly special. We were introduced to this bag by our friend Cindy Bauer, founder of Kupenda. Kupenda is an amazing local nonprofit that works to help people with disabilities in Kenya to achieve their potential through advocacy, education, and medical intervention.

The artisan of this bag, Lauren Tuso Kopalia, 25, recently completed her education at the Kupenda-supported Sir Ali Special School and began making crafts to support her family. Lauren has been mentally disabled since birth but she has always worked hard and is now married, pregnant with her first baby (a boy!) and actively growing her business.

Note: The bag is about 4 1/2" tall.  It is 6 1/2" wide at the top, but more narrow at the bottom. The base of the bag is a circle with a 4 1/4" diameter.
