Sixteen Items in the LIVE (Silent Auction) EVENT ON NOVEMBER 6TH:

* 2008 Behrens & Hitchcock “The Heavy Weight” Napa Valley Bordeaux Blend. Valued at $90 per bottle. We have four bottles. This bottle has an incredible artist-designed label of a heavily-muscled boxer with gloved-hands, sitting on a stool in the corner of the ring, hanging his head. Comments from wine critics:

93 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2008 The Heavyweight is an intense, brooding red. Today it comes across as introspective and shut down. Black fruit, tar, smoke and grilled herbs struggle to emerge from a wall of tannins that is impenetrable. If the wine finds its center it may merit a higher score, but it does not look likely at this point. The Heavyweight is 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. I was very impressed with the wines I tasted from Behrens Family Winery. These bold, racy wines are long on exuberance and sheer personality. (12/2011)
92 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Good full ruby-red. Black cherry and licorice on the nose. Juicy, spicy and a bit youthfully tight; less obviously sweet than the 2008 Ode to Picasso bottling but boasts lovely ripeness to the redcurrant, graphite, spice and licorice flavors. Combines very good breadth and clarity. The cabernet sauvignon component is from Spring Mountain and Kenefick Ranch fruit. (6/2011)
91 points Wine Spectator
This supersized red is dark, rich, dense and chewy, with dark fruit, cedar, licorice and tobacco flavors giving the wine power. Ends with big, chewy tannins. Appropriately named. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Drink now through 2024. (4/2012)

80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot.

* 2013 Behrens & Hitchcock 20th Anniversary Red Wine Blend. Valued at $130 per bottle. We have four bottles.
Information from the B&H Archives Website:
This is our last wine with the Behrens & Hitchcock label, and we feel that we have ended on an excellent note! Made with love and grapes sourced from our best vineyards, this is a big and powerful wine, with sweet floral notes, hints of cinnamon and dark spice. Black fruit, cola and raspberry liquor are packed in the richly textured mouthfeel and long complex finish. Our good friends the Hitchcocks are now enjoying retirement. Be on the lookout for a wine dedicated to them in the not too distant future!
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot, 22% Syrah, 11% Petit Verdot
202 cases produced. Wine critics scored this wine 93-95 of 100.

* 2010 Behrens & Hitchcock “The Change Up” Valued at $100. We have two bottles. These are special bottles of wine from the personal wine cellar for Joe Bob Hitchcock, it is otherwise sold out.
Information from the B&H Archives Website:
All bases are covered with this stunning Behrens & Hitchcock wine. For openers, is boasts a deep and saturated ruby color. On the nose are hints of cedar and bacon vinaigrette with classic Cabernet notes. Perfectly balanced acidity and soft tannins compliment and enhance the flavors of anise, cedar, clove and black currant with a finish like a fastball: balanced, focused and linear.

May/June 2013 (91 (+?) points) – Stephen Tanzer Review
Bright, medium ruby-red, with purple highlights. High-pitched aromas of blackberry, violet and bitter chocolate. Intense and precise in the mouth, with dark fruit flavors similar to the aromas. Finishes firm and subtly persistent. Like the foregoing wines, this is not a huge wine but offers very good balance and structure.
73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petite Sirah
242 cases produced

* 2013 Winnett Vineyards “Bella Sharona” Valued at $19. We have two bottles from the personal wine cellar of David and Sharon Winnett. These wines were from their vineyard in Willow Creek and are estate bottled.
Description on the bottle: This wine…Bella Sharona, is named after my beautiful wife Sharon. It is a blend of four noble Bordeaux grapes – Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Like its namesake, this wine in intense, complex and alluring. Your first sip and you will understand my excitement in both the wine and the woman. Sharon is just for me, but the wine you can enjoy with a variety of foods, including lamb, beef, hard cheeses and meaty Italian dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese.

* 2014 Moonstone Crossing Riesling (Dry). Valued at $19. We have two bottles. Bottled in Humboldt County.
Description from the Moonstone Crossing Website: Mendocino County - Nelson Family Vineyards.
The aroma of this dry Riesling springs forth with white peach, yellow plum, and orange and lemon zest. Entry on the palate is full of nectarine, lemon and lime, wet stone with a refreshing level of acidity. Pair with Indian, Thai, Vietnamese or brioche with fruit topping. Stainless steel fermented and aged. Alcohol 13.4%. 105 cases.

* 2017 Trinity River Vineyards “Osprey” Chardonnay. Valued at $30. We have one bottle.
Information from Trinity River Vineyards website: The Osprey's familiar call warns all to make way for the champion angler of Trinity River. Its power and skill is second to none making a living from the river. Osprey Chardonnay celebrates this honored member of our community. With hints of pineapple, toasted hazelnut and crushed slate, the Osprey will pair well with seafood, pork and Asian cuisine. Grown and made with zero synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. Only 330 cases produced.
WINEMAKER'S TASTING NOTES: A subtle floral and fruity nose is followed by green apple and melon fruit flavors. This is a crisp non-oaked chardonnay more reminiscent of Burgundy then Napa. 100% Stainless Steel throughout production keeps this wine bright and full of tension. It is ripe, but has great acidity for balance. This white wine is ready now, but has 2-5 years of staying power not typical in fat, over-ripe whites.
