Item Description
The snow leopard cubs need names!
Born on May 16 at Stone Zoo, two female snow leopard cubs are in need of names. This is your opportunity to name one of the beautiful cubs, while also contributing to their care. You can bid now to name one of the cubs, while the other bidding opportunity will happen during the live auction on June 23 at Stone Zoo’s annual fundraising event, A Wild Affair.
Zoo New England, which manages Stone Zoo and Franklin Park Zoo, is committed to the preservation of this incredible species, and is a longstanding member of the Snow Leopard Trust’s Natural Partnership Program (NPP), contributing funds to support research and programs aimed at protecting snow leopards and their natural habitat.
The births are the result of a recommended breeding through the Snow Leopard Species Survival Plan, which is a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). SSPs help to ensure the survival of selected species in zoos and aquariums, most of which are threatened or endangered, and enhance conservation of these species in the wild.
All proceeds from A Wild Affair support the continued growth and operation of Stone Zoo, its education and conservation programs.
