Item Description
The second Elks home was located in the “City of Brotherly Love.” The American Elm is the predominate tree in Philadelphia, which is why this gavel is made from elm wood.
Just as the city’s most iconic symbol contains a crack, the gavel that bares its name does as well. The crack in the gavel is filled with copper dust from the penny machine at the U.S. mint.
