Item Description
Win a Lifetime Adoption of Kadar, a 7.5-metre [25'] whale shark tagged by the Shark Research Institute off East Africa.
Kadar is a very large, healthy whale shark. He has been re-sighted every year for the past seven years.
Kadar’s guardian will receive an 8"x10" photograph of him, a certificate of adoption (with their name, Kadar’s name, tag number, when and where he was tagged and the name of the tagger), and a Fact Sheet about whale sharks.
This is a lifetime adoption and no annual renewal is needed. Every time Kadar is seen again, his guardian will be notified when and where the sighting occurred.
Item Special Note
The Shark Research Institute began tagging whale sharks in 1993 and some of them are available for adoption.
Although there is no guarantee that Kadar will be spotted again (he is a wild animal), all of the whale sharks tagged off East Africa that up for adoption have been sighted again in the past year.
The winning bid is deductible from US Federal 2018 income taxes as a Charitable Donation. A tax receipt will be issued to the winning bidder.
