Painter Kate Nelson is drawn to and moved by the outdoor life. She paints in her barn-studio in Brewster on Cape Cod.
She has studied at the University of Massachusetts (tyhere influenced by Chuck Close, Keith Hollingworth and John Grillo), at the Mass College of Art, Haystack Mountain School on Deer Isle, ME and worked in residence at the Vermont Studio Center. Her work is in the permanent Collection of the DeCordova Museum, Lincoln, MA; Cahoon Museum, Cotuit, MA; and in numerous corporate and private collections, including Cape Cod Healthcare, Sony Corporation and Pfizer USA. Locally, she is represented by Left Bank Gallery, Wellfleet; Ross Coppelman, Goldsmith, Dennis; and Cross Rip Gallery, Harwichport.
