Pen and Ink Drawing
Framed: 17" x 14"
While studying ceramics at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I decided to experiment with an unfamiliar medium. At the end of a busy day, I wanted to do something creative and relaxing, but different. So I began drawing animals, furniture and houses with pen and ink.
This drawing is of a very old house in Dennis. What first captured my interest of this particular place was its texture. It had been vacant for years and nature was left to take care of it. I also loved the rambling additions. Over the past few hundred years, those who lived in this house created space as it was needed. It has always interested me to think about the physical and spiritual layers of old houses.
