Item Description
Skillins Greenhouses is a true Maine tradition. This fifth-generation Maine family business was founded in 1885 by Alexander "Pa" Skillin to provide seedlings and produce to the local area. The growth of Skillins over the years has mirrored the growth of Falmouth and its surrounding community. After World War II, as Falmouth changed from fields and pastures into a town of fine homes, Skillins expanded into a landscaping, greenhouse, and floral business. The Brunswick and Cumberland locations, along with their Web site, make the selection of plants, gardening items and special gifts available to people all around Maine and the country.
Today Skillins produces many of its seasonal offerings, from colorful annuals to mums to poinsettias. The vibrant Christmas trees, shrubs and evergreens are grown their beautiful Mountainview Farm, demonstrating their commitment to to the future of this Maine tradition.
