American Revolution Museum at Yorktown and Jamestown Settlement, both AAM accredited living-history museums are operated by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia under the Secretary of Education in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. Both museums offer a wide range of group experiences: educational programs, group tours, performance package, private tours, dining and shopping all year long. The perfect addition to any itinerary! Both inside and out!

Near the site of the original colony, Jamestown Settlement tells the story of 17th-century Virginia, from the arrival of English colonists at Jamestown in 1607 to the cultural encounters and events that planted the seeds of a new nation. The world of Jamestown, America’s first permanent English colony, comes to life through film, gallery exhibits and outdoor living history. Interact with costumed historical interpreters as you climb aboard replicas of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607, and explore life-size re-creations of the colonists’ fort and a Powhatan village. November 10, 2018‐January 5, 2020: “Tenacity: Women of Jamestown and early Virginia” Special Exhibition, Jamestown Settlement
2019 Commemoration: AMERICAN EVOLUTION TM Legacy Project includes new interactive exhibits at Jamestown Settlement and the addition of the “Rebellion Theater”.

Near the battlefield where allied American and French forces won the decisive battle of the American Revolution in 1781, the new American Revolution Museum at Yorktown chronicles the Revolutionary period, from colonial unrest to the formation of the new nation. The story of America’s evolution is told through films, vibrant engaging exhibits and participatory experiences inside a new museum building and outdoors at a living-history Continental Army encampment, featuring an artillery demonstration area and Revolution-era farm. June 2019 – February 2020: “Forgotten Soldier” Special Exhibition, American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, held in conjunction with 2019 Commemoration, AMERICAN EVOLUTIONTM, marking the 400th anniversary of the first recorded Africans in Virginia.
Both are among the nation’s premier living-history museums telling the story of America’s beginnings.
