Item Description
Henry VIII: Act 1, Scene 4
Bottle of 1978 Grand Vin de Latour*
A beautifully mature Grand Vin, full and rich with layers of red fruits, cedar, earth and tobacco. Perfectly balanced, fine tannins, impressively textured and persistent finish. A serious wine.
Rated 92 by Wine Spectator.
“Château Latour is located in the heart of the Médoc wine region, about 50 km north-west of Bordeaux, where the legend of the vineyards of Bordeaux began. Dating back to 1331, the château's prime terroir, l’Enclos, overlooks the Gironde estuary: it is the river and the ocean that, over the centuries, have given the vineyard its geological complexity and, on a daily basis, ensure a mild climate.”
*Although the label is slightly distressed, the bottle has been properly cellared by the collector donating the bottle, there is no evidence of ullage, and she guarantees the wine.
