Item Description
100% silk scarf hand painted by Calgary artist Darcy Gusse-Edinga. This scarf is entitled fireweed and is a mix of bright vibrant colors truly reminiscent of wild fireweed.
Darcy Gusse-Edinga graduated from the clothing and textiles program at the University of Alberta. Painting on silk provides a freedom of expression for Darcy and most of her motifs are inspired by nature. The simplicity of lines and the bold use of colours are prominently featured in her work.
Darcy is the owner/operator of Silk Concepts whose painted silk textiles have been featured at the prestigious Smithsonian Institute in the United States.
