Item Description
Brent Burns is a hockey beauty. The beard, the missing teeth, the shaggy-dog hair, the crazy warm-up dance…it is all part of the package. Along with amazing skills that have made him one of the best defensemen in the NHL. Even people that dislike the Sharks, absolutely LOVE Brent Burns. Burns was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the first round, 20th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Upon turning professional with the Wild in 2003, Burns was converted from offense to defense by defensively-minded Minnesota Head Coach Jacques Lemaire. During the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Burns was traded to the San Jose Sharks and has been leaving his mark in SJ ever since. Although he’s been very good for both the Sharks and Team Canada over the years (even being named the best defenseman as part of Canada’s gold medal-winning team at the 2015 World Championships), it was the 2015/16 season that was really his coming out party as one of the NHL’s best. Not only did he lead the League in goals scored by a Defenseman (by A LOT!) but he captivated the fans with his energy and free-flowing style of play. Just a fun hockey player to watch and a big reason for the Sharks Western Conference Championship in 2015/16. This Sports Gallery Exclusive Display is AMAZING! It starts with a hand-signed 8x10 photo of Brent being Brent. Then we went to work creating a cool, quality-framed display - wood moulding, UV-protective glass, Sharks double-matting - that includes enlarged custom plate with Sharks logo, along with "FEAR THE BEARD" mat cut-out and v-groove.
