Writopia Lab is an award-winning nonprofit that runs the country's best creative writing workshops for kids ages 2 to 18. Our mission is to foster joy, literacy, and critical thinking in children and teens from all backgrounds through creative writing. We create a safe and engaging space for writers at all stages of the writing process, and we aim to provide the creative inspiration, individual attention, and intellectual environment that may not be available to them at school.
In our workshops, young writers explore the creative writing genre of their choice (fiction, fantasy, science fiction, poetry, memoir, scripts, comics, graphic novels, humor, etc.) or essay writing. Our instructors are published authors who are deeply invested in the well-being and development of Writopia writers. They help our writers complete one piece of writing by the end of each workshop. Particpants are then invited to read their writing at a local book store, and may also publish their pieces online at Writopia's own literary magazines.
Visit www.writopialab.org to view the workshop schedule.
