Winemaker Brian Harlan started his career in the restaurant industry in Sacramento, eventually becoming a Sommelier.

Taking classes at Davis in combination with his biology background lead to an amazing career working next to multiple winemakers at Raymond, Biale, Falcor, Envy & Joseph Cellars.

From this exposure to different philosophies, styles and techniques, and their impact on the wine, Brian developed a keen sense of what he wanted his wine to be, and a clear direction on how to get there.

In 2014, Brian Arden Winery was ready for its first harvest with state-of-the-art equipment.  In May of 2015 the hospitality center was opened and the pouring began with the opening of a 2008 Cabernet Franc.

With a small team of highly educated wine lovers, three dogs and two winemakers on hand, Brian Arden Winery runs as small family business producing less than 5000 cases a year. The Winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Malbec, and Syrah. Brian prefers to work with 100 percent varietal wines, and does some blending for fun, believing that allowing each varietal to speak for itself and for its terroir is the best expression of the wine, and provides the varietal to show off its individual characteristics.

You will experience the new five-course Chef Bites Wine & Food Pairing. Indulge in Brian Arden wines paired with culinary bites from their estate chef.  A greeting with bubbles begins your experience as you are led through the property by a friendly host. Peek into the garden where many of the vegetables and fruits are sourced, take in the beauty of the vineyard then head to the winery where all of the winemaking is done. Finish your tour seated in the tasting lounge as your host guides you through the seasonal delights. Chat with the chef as he prepares your courses in Brian Arden’s beautiful, brand new, open kitchen.

You won’t find any tasting notes for the wines provided from the winery – their philosophy is to let each person taste the wines and make their own decisions on preference, flavors, aromas etc – rather than be influenced by provided notes.

Reserve Chef Bites Tasting at least 48 hours in advance, the Winery is closed on Wednesdays.
